A positive business atmosphere has brought major technology and telecommunications businesses into this area, helping to drive its fantastic growth. What's more, an aggressive strategy to continue bringing in businesses is spurring a long-term economic boom for Allen and the surrounding area.

Allen has the dubious honor of being home to the first Texas train robbery, made by Sam Bass on February 22, 1878. With the arrival of trains in the area, Allen grew in size, only to have its business district destroyed by fire in 1915. By 1950, it stood at only 400 residents. After highways came into the area, however, the town grew once more. Now, with so many incentives for businesses to make their homes here, it is a booming town. Although its population stands at 65,000 today, it is projected to have another 10,000 residents inside the next 2 years, around 90,000 residents by 2010.

With arts and culture, good homes and education, and a terrific economic outlook, Allen has a lot to offer for those who live here.
