Want to talk about rampant growth? Frisco had a tiny population of under 7000 in 1990. 14 years later, it stands at 65,000, and it expects to have another 10,000 residents in just one year!!!
Why is it seeing such fantastic growth? Let's talk about vision and just about unmatched quality in one feature after another. The city has won Environmental Visions Awards for the past 4 years; it is recognized as having one of the best growth plans for the next 20 years in the entire state of Texas! Its fire department is one of only 43 cities in the entire country to have a #1 insurance rating.
The city is also home to the largest mall in north Texas. It is rapidly developing more and more reasons for people to live there and enjoy the community. Among current projects is the 145-acre Frisco Square -- an extension of the downtown, which will add offices, retail shops, and 400 more homes to the downtown area.
And can you say "sports"? Frisco has recently built a new baseball stadium for a Texas Rangers' double-A affiliate team. It's also about to build a Major League Soccer stadium, and it's home to the Dallas Stars' training center. It will soon open a major gymnastics facility as well.
The city has a fitness center, a number of community facilities, and 19 parks. It also has its own library.
There's only one reason a city grows this big this quickly -- there's a whole lot going on, and a lot of people who love what they see here!
