Grapevine has been around since before Texas became a state, having been settled in 1844. It was named Grapevine because of the wild Mustang grapes that grow all across the area.

True to its name, Grapevine boasts no less than 5 wineries and a Grapefest celebration each September. It also offers a fantastic blend of history and modern living. It offers "Olde Tyme Carriage Rides," a heritage center, and a vintage railroad.

The railroad offers rides like "back in the day" on the Taratula Train. A restored, 1896 steam locomotive named "Puffy" treks back and forth between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards many times each day, offering one-way and roundtrip rides for people wanting to experience old-time travel.

Despite the vintage amenities, Grapevine also has the best in modern shopping and plenty of entertainment. It has 3 golf courses, countless restaurants, and a resort and convention center that's out of this world.
