When the railline was first put in -- back in 1881 -- between Fort Worth and Texarkana, a number of villages popped up along it, and Keller was among them. It even took its modern name from one of the railroad foremen.
A village no more, today the town of Keller is fast-growing, as most of the surrounding area. In the last decade, the town has grown nearly 100% to nearly 33,000 residents.
No wonder its growing so well -- it's got an excellent school system and plenty of community amenities, including hiking and biking trails, an ampitheater, and a fastastic recreation and aquatic center. The residents of Keller place a high value on open, green areas and plenty of parks and trees, so this is an important part of expansion planning.
The town center offers upscale shopping and dining, alongside office, retail, and municipal facilities.
In general, Keller is a town of smaller businesses, and many residents work in the large businesses outside the town itself. However, a well-planned road system connecting to surrounding highways actually makes the commute easy, so residents can enjoy their homes here without having to worry about the daily drive to work.
Keller is likely to continue its expansion, because the entire area continues its strong economic trend and Keller, as a beautiful town for the surging population, will remain a popular spot for those moving into the area.
